Godlyke Disciple 5-String Bass
For players who require an extended frequency range, the Disciple Series 5-String is a perfect blend of functionality and versatility that features a tight, focused B string with low-register note clarity that is a rare on a 34" scale instrument. The Disciple-5 Features a lightweight and ergonomically shaped two-piece Ash body that is perfectly balanced and extremely comfortable in both sitting and standing positions. A 6-Bolt Maple neck with 34” scale length and a 24-fret Rosewood fingerboard offers unsurpassed comfort and stability while the color-matched headstock with mounted chrome Godlyke logo is beautiful as well as functional. Each instrument is rounded out by chrome Gotoh precision mini tuners and a fully adjustable chrome plated brass bridge/stop tailpiece configuration.
The Disciple features an advanced electronics system based around one SGC J-Style hum-canceling single coil pickup in the neck position and one SGC MM-style humbucker in the bridge position. An 18-volt active electronics system offers the user an incredible array of unique and usable tones with an extremely low noise level and features the following controls: Volume, Blend, Bass (+/-15 dB @ 90 Hz), Treble (+/-17 dB @ 8 KHz), and Notch Filter (-20 dB @ 850 Hz) with adjustable Midrange (+/- 12 dB @ 350 Hz – located in control cavity). Tonally, the Ash/Rosewood wood combination of the Disciple yields a warm and punchy voice that is focused in the lower-midrange – perfect for emulating the sound of vintage instruments or for backing up a rock, blues, or funk band. The active electronics system provides the Disciple with a punchy, authoritative tone that easily cuts through any mix without overpowering the other instruments. Each Disciple Series instrument is available in Natural Ash (shown), Trans Red, or Trans Black Satin finishes with matching headstock and are completely hand-crafted in Japan with no CNC tooling used!
