Godlyke Deity 8-String Bass It is with great pride that we introduce our supreme creation – the Godlyke Deity 8-String Bass. Never before has a hand-crafted, feature-laden, multi-string instrument been offered at such a reasonable price point. The Deity-8 was designed for the adventurous player who is more interested in breaking ground than re-treading it. Unlike many multi-string instruments, the Deity-8 features a standard neck size that is only 1/16” wider than our 4-string model. This more manageable neck width allows the user to perform many advanced playing techniques on the Deity-8 that would be difficult if not impossible on an instrument with wider string spacing. In addition, the Deity-8’s perfectly balanced body takes the burden off the player’s left hand, allowing them to concentrate on finger technique and performance rather than support of the instrument’s headstock.

Each Deity-8 features a lightweight and ergonomically shaped two-piece Ash body with selectable AAA Flame Maple or Walnut Cap. A Maple set-neck with dovetail joint and a 34” scale length combined with 24-fret Ebony fingerboard offers the best qualities of bolt-on and neck-thru designs without any of their inherent shortcomings. This set-neck configuration offers easy access to the upper register frets as well as unsurpassed comfort and stability. The Deity’s color-matched headstock with mounted Gold Godlyke logo is beautiful as well as functional. Each instrument is rounded out by Gold-plated Gotoh precision Guitar & mini Bass tuners and a fully adjustable Gold-plated custom 8-string bridge by Gotoh.

The Deity-8 features an advanced electronics system based around one EMG J-Style single coil 8-string pickup in the neck position and one SGC specially designed 8-string humbucker in the bridge position. An 18-volt active electronics system offers the user an incredible array of unique and usable tones with an extremely low noise level and features the following controls: Volume, Blend, Bass (+/-15 dB @ 90 Hz), Treble (+/-17 dB @ 8 KHz), and Notch Filter (-20 dB @ 850 Hz) with adjustable Midrange (+/- 12 dB @ 350 Hz – located in control cavity).

Tonally, the Deity-8 is in a class all its own. Bridging the gap between the low-end and the upper registers, the Deity-8 offers a massive foundation that no other instrument can match. Thunderous, punchy bottom with ringing sustained harmonics create a wall of sound that will make your rhythm guitarist obsolete, or allow you to forego a guitarist altogether (just ask John Paul Jones)! From chiming, chorused clean sounds to overdriven thunder, the Deity-8 offers it all.

All Deity Series instruments are available in Natural Maple, Natural Walnut (shown), Trans Red, Trans Blue or Honeyburst Satin finishes with matching headstock and are completely hand-made in Japan with no CNC tooling used!
